13.32 INDIANS IN JAPAN NO LONGER "ENEMY NATIONALS" of Information announced that Indians resident in Japan classed as enemy nationals will not be treated as such in future, unless they commit traitorous acts. The ruling applies to those residing in the Philippines, Hongkong, British Borneo, British Malaya, Burma and the N.E.I. The announcement says: Japan pursues a policy of deep sympathy towards, and the fullest cooperation in the construction of new India. The Government decided, therefore, to revise the treatment of Indians formerly considered to be enemy nationals. This revision means that Indians who understand Japan's war objectives, and cooperate with her in the construction of greater East Asia will be exempted from the application of the control of enemy property and asset freezing. They will not be treated as enemy nationals even in small official matters.
